Microbiology department provides teaching-learning experience to achieve the following learning objectives:
KNOWLEDGE:
At the end of the course students will be able to
- Describe and understood the aetiopathogenesis of microbiological agents
- Explain the host- parasie relationship
- Understand the princile of immunology
- Understand hospital acquired infection and its prevension
- Understand about antibiotic resistant pathogens and selection of antibiotics and its rational use
SKILL:
Student should be able to
- Plan necessary laboratory investigations , selecting appropriate clinical samples at the right time, using the right methods of their collection.
- Perform simple laboratory tests available in Upozilla Health Complex
- Carry out the techniques of asepsis, antisepsis and sterilization
ATTITUDE:
Students will be able to
- Demonstrate the attitude for further teaching, research and continuing education for improvement of efficiency and skill in the subject.

- Blood Culture and Sensitivity
- Urine Culture and asensitivity
- Culture and Sensitivity of all types of fluids ( CSF, Pus, Synovial, Ascitic, Pleural fluid)
- Gram staining and AFB staining
- Fungus diagnosis by skin scrapping, nail eliping, hair placking,
- Sputum Culture and Sensitivty
- Throat swab culture and sensitivity
- Stool culture and sensitivity
